Since its first edition (2006-2007), ANDRILL has implemented an innovative Educational and Public Outreach Program consisting of actively engaging a group of selected educators in every single phase of the research, from the on-ice activity to the discussion of the results.
This method has produced an impressive list of achievements in terms of:
1) quality of the outreaching initiatives and educational material produced (highly effective and scientifically precise);
2) number of schools involved (several hundreds);
3) creation of an international network of highly motivated polar geo-science educators;
4) creation of new and unexpected professional opportunities.
This list is still growing, even years after the experience.
EUROANDRILL's educational initiative is born within this context of innovative approaches to geo-science education, and intends to involve even more motivated teachers and provide them with an inside view of the ANDRILL research.
ANDRILL's team of science educators is made of 15 people at the moment. Stay in touch, the next one involved may be you!
